This can also be accessed from the HST main page: http://www.stsci.edu (then follow the links to data archives, then to HST, and then the Main Search Form link on the left side of the page).
Two effective ways to search for planetary data.
  • Search by Target
The first is to search by Target Name. If you choose this option, you want to make it as general as possible (e.g. JUP* or SAT* for Jupiter and Saturn), and under the Resolver pull-down menu, you want to choose the option Don't Resolve. This means that the software will NOT search numerous through astronomical catalogs to try and find objects whose name matches with JUP* or SAT*.
  • Target Description
That opens a link to a new page that gives all kinds of descriptions for targets, including Jupiter, it's atmosphere, aurora, etc. So if you put in a target description that closely matches what you're searching for, you should be able to find it that way.
