C2H4 mole fraction and temperature profiles after the 2010 Saturn Storm


Brief description of data set
Because Cassini had been in orbit since July 2004, mission operations were mature when the 40-degree N. storm erupted in December 2010. Thus, the Composite Infrared Spectrometer (CIRS) was able to track ethylene at the millibar altitude level for the duration of the storm, from March 2011 to January 2012. The temperatures at the millibar level ranged from the pre-storm 140K to 220K in May 2011 and had relaxed back to 180K by April 2012. This ethylene emission data indicates abundance at the 1.3 mbar level ranging from 20 ppb to 100 ppb.

The temperature and abundance data span the period from 2011-03-03T00:00:00Z to 2012-04-16T00:00:00Z on the following dates: 2011-062, 2011-188, 2011-199, 212-013, 2012-014, 2012-047and 2012-107. Temperatures span the pressure range from 4001to 0.0004 millibars while C2H4 Mole fractions were obtained from 7.98 to 0.1 millibars.
