Profiles of derived atmospheric temperature, and dust (21.6 μm) and water ice (11.9 μm) opacity per kilometer (km-1), from limb observations obtained with the MCS instrument on MRO. Uncertainty (error) bars for the derived temperatures are included.
Useful Mission Documents
The DATA contained within the MRO MCS PDS archive are provided in the form of ASCII files. Each file contains numerous profiles of derived temperature, dust opacity, water ice opacity, CO2 cloud opacity, and water vapor abundance at 105 pressure levels obtained over one 4-hour interval. Profiles are nominally provided at ~32 second intervals. The six 4-hour intervals for one terrestrial calendar day are collected together within a single folder, and these single day folders for one terrestrial calendar month are collected together within a single folder for that month.
The most up-to-date data processing results are available within the Version 2 DDR archive. Within that archive each calendar month's data (starting in September 2006, folder MROM_2001 and currently through October 2011, MROM_2062) is contained within a single folder, and within each folder's DATA subfolder there is a year folder (2006, 2007, etc.) within which there is a month-of-year folder (201110 for October 2011, for instance), and within this folder are folders for each day of that month (20111031 for October 31, 2011, for instance) and within these individual day folders are the ASCII data files, each spanning 4 hours of accumulated derived profiles (for instance the 8 PM - midnite data for October 31, 2011 are contained within the 2011103120_DDR.TAB ASCII data file).
