Pan orbits Saturn in the Encke Gap, which contains a small ring within the same orbit.

Pan has dimensions of 34.4 x 31.4 x 20.8 km with a period of revolution of 0.575050718 days. Planned flybys span the mission with a close approach on Jun 19, 2010 and many encounters planned near the end of the mission.
